Hi!

I'm Jess, I live with my little boy in a small seaside town in Kent, UK.

I love all things creative, cute and magical. I try to find joy in the little things and I cannot imagine my life without art.

I have a BA in Fine Art; I wish back then I had been able to do 'The Good ship' picture book course because then I would have started my passion for illustration years ago.

I picked up my illustration pencil in earnest for the first time during the unprecedented 2020 lockdown. I had a picture book idea floating around I had come up with in 2013, decided I had nothing to lose and had a go at painting the final book pages.

I have always had a love for picture books: one of my strongest memories of feeling safe, content and happy is having a story read to me at bedtime, and l'd love to share that feeling with the world.

I have been an art technician in a secondary school since 2010, I work with inspiring teachers and the next generation of artists. I love passing on skills I have learnt over the years and helping people find their creative voice. I get to mess around with art materials and different processes which always makes me very happy.
